Charles Isaac Pope

August 25, 1927 — October 7, 2012

Charles Isaac Pope, 85, born on August 25, 1927, in Ringold, LA, passed away October 7, 2012. He resided in Los Angeles, California at the time of his passing. Charles Pope aka: Charlie Brown, PP Puppydog, Sugarlips, Pappa Too Sweet, Bowtie.
Charles joined the Navy soon after finishing high school. After he served his time in the Navy he moved to California. He then found work in a fibre board factory with his brother- in -law Eddie. A few years later he dated and married Pauline Adams. They had one child Iris. The marriage only lasted a few years.
Charles worked for the factory for approx. 15 years and then was hired by the RTD or MTA as they call it now. He worked for RTD for over 25years. He drove the WESTERN LINE and got to know so many people during that time. That is how he met his second wife Mona Cameron. Mona was on her way home from work and she sat in the seat behind him. He handed her a piece of paper and told her to fill it out with her name and phone number. They dated for awhile and was married in July 1974(the LADIES MAN had been caught). Charles and Mona were married for over 10 years and even though their marriage ended, they always remained best friends forever. Mona was ALWAYS there for him.
Charles loved sports, traveling, fishing, but most of all he loved people. His house was the place to be. Everyone loved to be at Charle's house.
He was also very giving. If you told him you wanted to take him out to lunch, somehow not only would he end up paying for lunch, he would fill your tank up with gas too.
If he went to the bank and the teller was nice, he would sneak her a twenty! Even though she was just doing her job.
He also was the one to go to for advice. He always had a word of wisdom. Relationship problems, finance problems, car problems, or just plain people problems, just call charles.
I'm sure everyone will agree CHARLIE BROWN we're all going to miss you and that famous smile!
