Charles Monier, born December 30, 1951, in Opelousas, Louisiana, passed away on February 19, 2025 surrounded by his wife, sons, and grandchildren. He honorably served in the United States Navy, where he earned the nickname "Frenchy" for his heroic efforts in assisting a French-speaking naval ship in distress. Frenchy was a devoted family man who cherished his wife, children, and grandchildren. He found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was spending time at the casino, sharing lighthearted teasing with loved ones, or listening to country music. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Frenchy was preceded in death by his parents, Melca and Marie Monier; four siblings, Harrison Fontenot, Gerald Monier, Barbara Monier, and Shirley Meyer; his father and mother-in-law, Donald Williams Sr. and Veneda Williams; two brothers-in-law, Bruce Williams and Donald Williams Jr.; and two granddaughters, Courtney and Katelyn Harvey.
Frenchy is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Deborah Monier; two sons, Roy Harvey and Neal Monier; five beloved grandchildren, Jonas Monier, Trista Harvey, Paige Monier, Lexi Harvey, and Ethan Monier, all of Norwalk, California; one sister, Joann Bordelon of Ville Platte, Louisiana; one sister-in-law, Theressa, and her husband, Kenneth Kennedy of Amarillo, Texas; and many nieces and nephews who held their "Uncle Frenchy" close to their hearts.
Though Frenchy has left this world, his legacy of love and warmth will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
