Charles David Meadows

November 28, 1949 — September 3, 2014

Charles David Meadows, 64, passed away at his Bellflower home on September 3, 2014 surrounded by loved ones. After a valiant battle with cancer, he departed this earth peacefully. Chuck was born in Long Beach, California on November 28, 1949 to Darvin and Georgia Stafford Meadows.

Chuck's was without a doubt an eventful life which has given all who love him many memories and stories to share. He lived his life in the moment and to the fullest, and loved his family with all of his being. Chuck is survived by his daughter Carol Meadows; sons Alexander and Noah Meadows; step-daughter, Daniela Moreno; companion of 17 years, Shana Habel; son-in-law William Ramirez and grandson Maxwell; sisters Carole (Dick) Fredericksen and Gloria (Jim) Kepler; brother Alan Meadows; cousin Warren Raabe; and several nieces and nephews.

Chuck attended Excelsior High School in Norwalk, California and earned an Associate Degree from Chaminade College in Honolulu, Hawaii. He served in the U.S Army from 1972 to 1979, and, among his many adventures, worked as a deep sea diver in the Pacific. Chuck was a master of crossword puzzles and a walking encyclopedia of historical facts. He loved Yosemite and fondly recalled childhood memories of the national park. He spoke to his children of his five wonders: Yosemite, the Sequoia, Niagara Falls, the Grand Canyon and the big waves in Hawaii. The family plans on experiencing all his wonders together in his honor.

Chuck was a life-long Dodger fan, and passed this loyalty on to his children. He was a presence at every one of his son Noah's baseball games from Little League through high school, and took great joy in sharing this passion with him. One of his greatest wishes was fulfilled when he was able to walk his daughter Carol down the aisle and experience the birth of his first grandchild, Max.

His humor, intelligence, sarcasm, wise words, advice and innate goodness will be missed by all who knew and loved him. May his spirit shine bright and free embracing all the love that surrounds him.
