Charles Phillip Lagerstrom

Charles Phillip Lagerstrom, 90, born on July 27, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away March 7, 2018. He was a long time resident of Rancho Mirage, CA. Charles served in the U.S. Army as part of the occupied troops in World War II. He married the love of his life Beverly Marie Preston on May 3, 1952 and moved to California from Dearborn, Michigan. Charles moved up quickly in the insurance industry and became Division Manager along with Resident Vice President of Safeco Insurance Company of America. He served as Regional Campaign Chairman for the 1979-1980 United Way Campaign. Charles will be reunited in heaven with his wife Beverly Marie Lagerstrom and son Mark Nathaniel Lagerstrom. He leaves behind his daughter Maureen Ann Gillespie, son-in-law James M. Gillespie, grandchildren Mark Anthony Guzman, Samantha Marie Guzman and great granddaughter Kinsley Grace Holden. Celebration of Life Mass will be held on April 11, 2018 at 1:00pm at Sacred Heart Church 43775 Deep Canyon Rd. Palm Desert, Ca. 92260. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the Read with Me Program through the Desert Community Foundation P.O. Box 1016, Rancho Mirage, Ca 92270.
