Charles J. Gonzalez

October 12, 1945 — July 8, 2022

Charles (Chuck) Gonzalez passed away on July 8, 2022 after having spent several months in and out of the hospital and rehabilitation facilities. He was born on October 12, 1945 in Glendale, California to Candido and Josephine Gonzalez. He grew up in Burbank where he met and married his first wife and the mother of his two sons, Susan. In 1966 he joined the Navy where he served for 4 years. He received a Bachelor of Science degree with Distinction in Accounting from San Diego State University in 1972 and received a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Southern California in 1974. He worked as an accountant for over 45 years with the majority of those years spent as a Certified Public Accountant. Chuck was a passionate golfer and a member of Lakeside Golf Club where he could often be found spending time with his friends. He was a very active member and was involved in multiple committees, served on the board twice, was Editor of the Lakeside News, and served a term as Club President. In 1986 he co-founded the East Valley Family YMCA Golf Tournament and proceeded to co-chair the event for more than 20 years. The tournament has consistently been a prolific fundraiser and for many years it out-raised all other fundraising at the Y.

Chuck is predeceased by his parents and brother, Daniel. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Nona, son Gregory and his wife Nicole, son Jasen, son Jeffrey and his wife Michele, "adopted" daughter Carianne and her husband Marcus, and six grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held on September 13, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church 10800 Moorpark St., North Hollywood, CA 91602.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the East Valley YMCA in Chuck's honor.
