Charles Dillenbeck

August 25, 1951 — January 23, 2026

Charles “Chuck” Dillenbeck, 74, was born on August 25, 1951, in Wilmington, California, and passed away on January 23, 2026. A beloved son, husband, brother, Nino, Compadre and friend, Chuck spent his life caring for others and his community.

A longtime resident of Lakewood, California, Chuck dedicated his career to service and advocacy. He earned a master’s degree in social services from Cal State Dominguez Hills and worked in private care and with the Orange County Regional Center, where he devoted many years to supporting young adults and children at risk or with special needs. His work was guided by patience, compassion, and a belief that every person deserved dignity, safety, and opportunity.

Chuck was a steadfast advocate for social justice and a proud champion of the LGBTQ+ community. He believed in showing up for others, especially those whose voices were often unheard, and he lived those values through both his professional work and personal relationships.

He will be remembered for his humor, kindness, integrity, and lifelong commitment to helping others.

He is survived by family members, including his siblings Randy Dillenbeck, Sandra Santiago, and Emma Pitre, as well as his nephews Russell Dillenbeck, Dillen Pitre and niece Charlee Pitre.

Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Long Beach, California
