Charles Dailey passed on August 29, 2025 surrounded by family and friends in Los Angeles, CA. He was an educator, artist, poet, mentor, and devoted husband to Rossana.
Born to Almeta and Ernest Dailey in Brooklyn, NY, Charles attended Malverne High School. He cultivated friendships that endured a lifetime. Drafted into the Vietnam war, he was a decorated combat medic for the Big Red 1 infantry. He thrived at NYU, School of Visual Arts, and Otis Art Institute. He was a successful artist for the City of Los Angeles and taught at Ribet Academy, doubling as a father-figure. A 2025 art exhibition showed a compendium of his life's work.
His "Dailey-isms" combined humor and wisdom. "Take care of each other," he said in his final days. The world is a better place because of Mr. Dailey.
He is survived by his wife Rossana, brother Ernest, Jr., daughter Dailey Little, and grandson Ramsey.
