Haverhill, MA: Charles R. "Chucky" Allen, Jr., 58, of Vermont passed away unexpectedly on August 28, 2014.

Born, raised, and educated in Haverhill, MA, son of the late Charles R. and Marie (Thibault) Allen, he was employed as a laborer and construction worker locally for many years. Mr. Allen attended the West Congregational Church, Haverhill.

A loving father and grandfather, Mr. Allen enjoyed working with his hands. He was very active in the community and served as a sponsor for Alcoholics Anonymous. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed hiking. His greatest joy was helping others.

He is survived by his son, Blake Allen and his wife of Derry, NH, a granddaughter, Sonnet Allen, his siblings, Cheryl Jarzobski, Danny Allen, Jimmy Allen, Pammy Lemerise, Jane Allen, Joan Little, and Betty Anderson, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Chris Allen.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Sunday, September 14, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the First Church of Christ, 10 Church Street, Bradford, MA.
