Cecilia passed away on December 31st, 2023, in Los Alamitos. She was born on September 23rd, 1939, in Philippines, to Salvador and Soledad Enriquez. She grew up in Manila with her 5 siblings - brothers Salvador Jr., Diosdado, and Fernando, and her sisters Esperanza and Adelaida.
Cecilia is survived by her beloved daughter, Clarissa, and her devoted son-in-law, Jolly. Cecilia's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Camilla, Matteo, and Bianca, who brought immense happiness and laughter into her life. They all lived together in Cerritos, CA and will forever hold the memories of their loving grandmother close to their hearts.
Education played a significant role in Cecilia’s life. She pursued her passion for knowledge and obtained a Master of Science at the University of the Philippines. There, she excelled as an instructor of botany and biology. Her dedication to education led her to the University of the East, where she became a respected professor in the same fields.
Cecilia’s journey led her to America where she overcame obstacles with immigration to live a life in the states. She began her career in medical insurance and developed through various roles as a claims adjuster at John Hancock, Aetna, and Pacificare. While all along juggling additional part time jobs at department stores such as Bullocks, and selling jewelry. Cecilia’s colleagues admired her for her articulation, thorough attention to detail, and her ability to navigate complex situations effortlessly.
As a single mother, Cecilia faced unique challenges. Yet, she demonstrated unwavering strength, independence, and resilience. Her exceptional money management skills allowed her to provide for her family beyond what was expected. It is because of her strong work ethic and determination that she was able to buy her first home in Glassel Park in 1999, and accomplish on her own what is typically accomplished by a married couple. Her achievements as a single parent were a testament to her unwavering willpower.
Cecilia leaves behind a legacy of independence, wisdom, determination, and strength. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her impact on the lives of those she touched will forever be cherished.
May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to us all.
