Newton, NH: Cecelia E. (Comeau) Spencer, 92, of Newton, NH and a former wintertime resident of St. Petersburg, FL, died on March 6, 2014 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH.

Born is Chelsea, MA and raised and educated in Malden, MA, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Monahan) Comeau, she graduated from Malden High School with the Class of 1941. Primarily a housewife and homemaker for most of her life, Mrs. Spencer worked more recently as a waitress at Sawyer's Restaurant for seventeen years.

A member of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish at Mary Mother of the Church, Newton, she enjoyed cooking, cleaning, serving, and shopping. An accomplished organist, she most enjoyed creating a warm and happy home for her large family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon T. Spencer, and is survived by sons, Stephen "Clic" Spencer of Santa Cruz, CA, and Jeffrey Spencer and his wife Renee of Newton, NH, daughters, Joan M. DeMarco and her husband Joseph of Pelham, Laura A. Charron and her husband Maurice of Hudson, NH, and Patricia Spencer of Hampton, NH, ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Timothy P. Spencer.

The family would like to thank the Rockingham County Nursing Home for the care and comfort that they extended to Mrs. Spencer during her residence.

There are no calling hours. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Mary Mother of the Church, 12 Amesbury Road, Newton, NH. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Newton. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
