Cathy was not only skilled in her profession but had a true passion for it. She dedicated herself to helping others feel their best by enhancing their natural beauty. Those who had the pleasure of being in her chair would attest to her extraordinary talent and kind-hearted nature. Cathy's clients were not just customers; they were her friends, confidantes, and part of her extended family.
Beyond her professional success, Cathy had a wealth of hobbies and interests that brought joy to her life. Painting held a special place in her heart and allowed her to express her creativity in vibrant colors on canvas. Each stroke of the brush was a reflection of her inner spirit and deep appreciation for art.
One couldn't speak about Cathy without mentioning her incredible culinary skills. Her cooking, especially during Thanksgiving gatherings, was legendary among family and friends. No one could resist the mouthwatering aromas that wafted from her kitchen as she whipped up one delicious dish after another. Cathy's roots extended far and wide, with a family background deeply rooted in the world of sports. Her father, Clarance Fred Gehrke, was a football legend and Hall of Famer. He left an indelible mark on the National Football League, playing for the Cleveland/Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and Chicago Cardinals between 1940 and 1950. Cathy took pride in her father's remarkable achievements and held his memory close to her heart.
Cathy leaves behind a loving sister named Bonnie Buhler along with 1/2 brother and 2 1/2 sisters. She is survived by her four children; Amy Abshier, Alice Goodman, Wesley Wilkerson, and Casey Wilkerson. Her legacy extends further through six cherished grandchildren: Sheri Price, Tony Twiford, Kelly Lipscomb, Maci Mendez, Kevin Moore and Sabastian Mandavano and five great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
In addition to her immediate family members, Cathy was a beloved aunt to Alecia Yelich and Karen MCollery. She took great pride in family accomplishments. Aleicas son and her great nephew is Christian Yelich a professional baseball player for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball.
A visitation will be held to celebrate the life of Cathy Wooley on the 23rd of January, 2024 at the Ramon Room in Forest Lawn - Cathedral City located at 69855 East Ramon Road in Cathedral City, California. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and conclude at 11:00 AM.
As we mourn the loss of Cathy Wooley, let us remember her as a beacon of beauty both inside and out. Her legacy will forever resonate within all those whose lives she touched through her exceptional talents, kind-heartedness, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
