April 1, 1949 — January 11, 2024

Cathy Wooley, a beloved cosmetologist, sadly passed away on the 11th of January, 2024 in Cathedral City, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and beauty. Born on the 1st of April, 1949, Cathy lived a life filled with love, laughter, cherished memories.

Cathy was not only skilled in her profession but had a true passion for it. She dedicated herself to helping others feel their best by enhancing their natural beauty. Those who had the pleasure of being in her chair would attest to her extraordinary talent and kind-hearted nature. Cathy's clients were not just customers; they were her friends, confidantes, and part of her extended family.

Beyond her professional success, Cathy had a wealth of hobbies and interests that brought joy to her life. Painting held a special place in her heart and allowed her to express her creativity in vibrant colors on canvas. Each stroke of the brush was a reflection of her inner spirit and deep appreciation for art.

One couldn't speak about Cathy without mentioning her incredible culinary skills. Her cooking, especially during Thanksgiving gatherings, was legendary among family and friends. No one could resist the mouthwatering aromas that wafted from her kitchen as she whipped up one delicious dish after another. The memory of those meals will forever be etched in the hearts and taste buds of all who were fortunate enough to indulge.

Cathy's personality was often compared to that of Snow White – pure beauty and gentleness radiated from within her. She had an innate ability to make those around her feel loved and supported. Her witty humor would always brighten even the gloomiest days with funny comments that left everyone bursting into laughter.

Among Cathy's proudest accomplishments was witnessing the recovery journey of her son Casey from drugs and alcohol addiction. She stood by his side through every step, providing unwavering love and encouragement along the way. Cathy's unwavering support and dedication helped Casey transform his life, becoming a source of inspiration to many others facing similar battles.

Cathy's roots extended far and wide, with a family background deeply rooted in the world of sports. Her father, Clarance Fred Gehrke, was a football legend and Hall of Famer. He left an indelible mark on the National Football League, playing for the Cleveland/Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and Chicago Cardinals between 1940 and 1950. Cathy took pride in her father's remarkable achievements and held his memory close to her heart.

Cathy leaves behind a loving sister named Bonnie Buhler along with 1/2 brother and 2 1/2 sisters. She is survived by her four children; Amy Abshier, Alice Goodman, Wesley Wilkerson, and Casey Wilkerson. Her legacy extends further through six cherished grandchildren: Sheri Price, Tony Twiford, Kelly Lipscomb, Maci Mendez, Kevin Moore and Sabastian Mandavano and five great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
