Catherine Spencer

Catherine Ann Spencer (Cathy) of Rancho Mirage passed away on September 19, 2025, at Eisenhower Health. Cathy spent the majority of her life living in the desert with periods spent living in San Diego. As a youngster, she attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Indio and was the in the second class to graduate from Palm Desert High School. She had a life-long love of the water and enjoyed being in or on the water any chance she got. As an avid cook Cathy enjoyed exploring cuisines from around the world. Cathy was employed in the auto industry where she worked for some of the desert’s top car dealerships. In a last act of selflessness, Cathy donated organs to two recipients. Her act of kindness has helped others and created a lasting legacy that will continue to touch countless people.

Cathy was predeceased by her mother Robin and father James (Jim/Kelly) and is survived by her son and the love of her life Zander; brothers Timothy and Matthew/spouse Jeaneen; uncles Ron and Dave/spouse Cheryl; Aunt Janet, Patricia/spouse Don, and Jerry/spouse Dirk; nephew James; nieces Jane and Riley; cousins too numerous to name; and Nancy/wife of James, who supported Cathy through challenges large and small.

The family thanks the amazing nurses of Eisenhower Health, they are angels on earth that provided care and compassion to Cathy and her family through her entire stay with them. A private ceremony to commemorate Cathy’s life will be held in the future. Please keep Cathy and Zander in your thoughts and prayers.
