Catherine Sanchez passed away on September 12, 2020. Born in 1928, Los Angeles, CA to Maximino and Carmen Virrey, she was first of nine children. She left school in eighth grade to go work the fields of Central California to help support her family. She claimed, at one point in her early childhood, the family lived in a horse stall on a farm. Despite all this struggle she, and her family, persevered. They did it together and they flourished. Catherine was married for fifty years to Albert Sanchez, who passed in 2010. She is survived by her daughters Linda and Terry, her sons James and Michael. Catherine and Albert had 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and twin great great grandchildren. They fostered over 75 children in a span of twenty-one years. Catherine enjoyed gardening, going to the casino, and her dogs and cats. She was our hero. Our girl. She was a great of the Greatest Generation.
