Catherine Mae Mckee

Catherine (Peggy) Mae McKee, 92, born on March 16, 1922, in Brady, OK, passed away in Palm Desert, CA on December 25, 2014 at the age of 92. She lived in La Quinta, CA at the time of her passing.

Catherine was born and raised in Pauls Valley, OK. In 1942 she married the love of her life, Walter J. McKee in Monterey, CA.

Living in various Southern California locations since 1962 they retired in La Quinta, CA in 2003.

Catherine worked for many years for the Department of Defense Audiovisual Agency located at Norton AFB, San Bernardino, CA.

Her husband Walter, passed away in 2009 and there was not a day since his passing that she did not miss him.

She is survived by her three children, Walter J. (Nancy) McKee Jr. of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, Jerry G. McKee of La Quinta, CA and Pamela K. (Tony) Ayala of Vista Santa Rosa, CA; grandchildren Tony Ayala of Riverside, CA, Brian Ayala of Vista Santa Rosa, CA, Mack McKee and Brad McKee of Texas; and six great grandchildren.

Catherine was know by her family as a wonderful cook and seamstress. She will be missed by her family but they are comforted in knowing that she has been reunited with her husband Walter and they are happy to be together once again.

Burial will be at Riverside National Cemetery on Wednesday, January 7th at 2 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, CA.
