Catherine Beal Cheney

Born February 14, 1957, in Bronx, New York to Colonel Harold and Audrey Beal, predeceased. She is survived by her husband Major Joseph Cheney of Indio, CA and son Ian Cheney and wife Karen of Anaheim, CA, son Nicholas Cheney of San Francisco, CA, daughter Jennifer Cheney of Morongo, CA, son Jerry of Morongo, CA and son Joseph Cheney and wife Michele of Palmetto, FL. She is also survived by her sister Colonel Jeanne Weaver of Havre de Grace, MD, brother Colonel Harold Beal of Milwaukee, WI, sister Jo Ann Beal of St. Augustine, FL, brother Matthew Beal of Brick, NJ, brother Mark Beal of Toms River, NJ and brother Christopher Beal of Scarsdale, NY. Catherine was an employee of Wal-Mart for 22 years. Catherine and her family came to the desert in 1989. She was active in the Cub Scout Troop in Indio and also an active volunteer with AYSO in Indio. Her number one responsibility was to her family. If the boys had soccer tournaments, they were there. If Nick had to be at the Whisky Agogo in Hollywood, they went. If Thanksgiving dinner had to be at a restaurant because Ian had to work, then they gave their thanks to be a family together. If Joseph needed to get out of the hot desert, they went. Daughter Jennifer being confirmed in NY, they went. Family Family Family. That was important to Catherine, it was her reward.
