Carolyn Pedersen

Carolyn A. Pedersen, 82, a longtime resident of Buena Park, CA, passed away December 3, 2023, after battling a respiratory illness.

She was born on March 21, 1941, in Wyalusing, PA on Spring Hill to her parents Alonzo and Erma Hawley. Her siblings include Jeanne Fiske, Sandy Edsell, and Viola Hawley. Alonzo Hawley Jr. and Joanne Ealey proceeded her in death.

Carolyn married James Bennett of Laceyville, PA in 1959. After the birth of their first child, they moved to California and had three more children. Years later they divorced.

In 1970 she married Lyman Pedersen who also had four children and she then became an active stepmother and grandmother.

After 34 years of service, she retired from VWR, a chemical and laboratory supply distributor, where she worked as an inside sales/customer service supervisor.

After retirement, her passion was participating in all her fifteen grandchildren’s activities, sports, and school functions. With the grace of God, she also was able to enjoy watching her fourteen great- grandchildren in all their extra activities. She was an avid reader and she enjoyed crafting, quilting, and gifting her large family with her hand crafts.

Carolyn is survived by her loving family and friends including her husband Lyman, children Patty, David, Kim, Bill, Carol Ann, Kay, and Kathy, several in laws, nieces, and nephews her thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great- grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and three of her sisters. She was predeceased in death by daughter Teresa, granddaughter Jill, grandson Samuel, her parents, one brother and one sister.

Carolyn was genuinely loved by many and will greatly be missed.
