Carole B De Luna, 77, born on August 26, 1937, in Los Angeles, California to Charles Leland Anderson and Della May Winningham, passed away July 10, 2015. She resided in Chandler, Arizona at the time of her passing. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Edwin L. De Luna, daughter, April N. French & son-in-law Jimmy C. French of Queen Creek, Arizona, Lilo Pex Lynch of Las Vegas, Nevada, sons, Curt & Nora Pex of Tucson, Arizona & Maximilian J. Pex of Chandler, Arizona . Carole also has two grandsons, Ryan G Lynch and Mason M Burke.
The visitation and memorial services were held on July 16 in Mesa, Arizona and was followed by funeral services on July 18, 2015 at The Little Church of the Flowers In Glendale, California. Internment ceremony was held at the Harmony section at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
Carole's music training and education started at age 5 at the piano. Professional voice lessons with Ivan Petroff were added at age 13. She graduated from Hollywood Professional School and attended the Los Angeles Conservatory of Music and Arts (of which Glynn Ross, former General Director of the Arizona Opera, was one of her instructors). Carole performed her vocal recital debut at age 17 at the Los Angeles Wilshire Ebell Theater and subsequently won a two year scholarship to the Santa Cecilia Music Academy in Rome, Italy. She attended The University of Southern California with studies in Languages and Psychology. Carole studied at Uta Hagan Drama School in New York City and headlined at New York's Viennese Lantern.She also performed the role as Julie in a production of Showboat in San Francisco.
Carole had an opportunity to perform in the musical "Family Affair" with John Gabriel (actor/producer) and Sidney Lassick ("One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest") in Los Angeles, California. She starred as the lead singer in George Arnold's "Musical Ice Review" at the "Golden Nugget" in Reno, Nevada and continued the role with George Liberace at the "Statler Hilton Hotel" in Los Angeles, California.
For ten years, Carole was a Children 's choir director at a LA , CA church. Her talent was shared with her church, where she performed special music for ten years. Her last concert "An Evening with Carole" was performed at the Santa Ana Ebell Club in Santa Ana, California.
An unfortunate accident 38 years ago left her a quadriplegic. Undaunted, Carole became music director at her church in San Antonio, Texas and coordinated numerous recitals and talent programs featuring music from "Phantom Of The Opera", "Les Miserables", "Cats", and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". From 1988 to 2010, she was owner and director of her own private studio for voice and piano in San Antonio, Texas and Tucson, Arizona.
