Carmelita Valencia

Carmelita "Lita" Valencia, 78, of Cerritos, CA, passed away on February 1, 2024 in Garden Grove, CA. She was born on May 23, 1945, in Manila, Philippines, to Jacinta and Geraldo Antonio.  Lita was a loving, generous, funny, sharp, and vibrant woman who brought joy to everyone around her. She was affectionate, caring, and had a zest for life.

Lita is survived by her children, Gerald (Jofflyn), Marc, and Kimberly. She is also survived by her siblings, Nellie, Dollie, and Chito. Lita was preceded in death by her husband, Juvenal, her mother Jacinta, her father Geraldo, her step-father Julian, and her sister Lydia.

Lita attended Aurollo High School and later pursued higher education at the University of the East. She dedicated over 30 years of her career as an Accounting Manager at Weber Metals, retiring in 2011.

Lita found solace and spiritual fulfillment at Holy Family Church in Artesia, CA, where she worshipped. She was a devout follower and cherished her time spent in prayer and reflection.  She was also a devoted member of her Sto. Niño group, which visited different houses every weekend to pray the rosary.

In her free time, Lita enjoyed shopping, playing Mah Jong, watching TV, and cheering on her favorite sports teams, the Lakers and Dodgers. She also loved attending church, traveling, and dancing.

Lita's warm presence, loving nature, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
