Carlota (Charlotte) Holguin Solorio

October 21, 1927 — March 12, 2018

Carlota (Charlotte) Holguin Solorio, 90, born on October 21, 1927, in Abilene, Texas, to Juan and Manuela Holguin, the seventh of nine children; and passed away after a short illness on March 12, 2018. Charlotte and her husband Alex, newly wed in 1950, took another plunge the same year and bought a house in the new community of Lakewood. After his death in 1974, she stayed there for another forty one years where she was a gracious host to all who visited. She leaves behind two children, Carla Sutton, and Alexander (Estella) Solorio, five grandchildren Jordan (Samantha) Sutton, Jackie (Caesar) Aguayo, Eric (Maria) and Alex (Rosie) Solorio, and Samantha Solorio (Josh) Cross. Other survivors include (but not limited to), ten great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, one sister, Dora Matlock, nineteen nieces and nephews, and the caretakers and residents of Crofton Manor Inn where she spent the last three years of her life (and where her hospitality continued). Charlotte will be remembered for many things, especially her love of family, friends, neighbors, and community. She will be missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Charlotte Solorio Memorial Fund at Lakewood Village Community Church would be greatly appreciated.
