Carlos O. Balarezo

Carlos "Chacho" Oswaldo Balarezo, 64, of Upland, California, passed away on 11 September 2019, surrounded by family and friends.

Chacho was born on 01 December 1954, in Lima, Peru. He married Ivonne, the love and light of his life, in 1980, and would have celebrated 39 years of marriage on 28 November. He remembered every detail of the first time he met her, and always said he wouldn't know where he would be without her. He is also survived by his only child, his daughter, Vanessa. He was so happy and proud to walk his daughter down the aisle in November 2018, and was looking forward to being a grandfather one day.

As a drummer who used to play in a heavy metal band, Chacho was known for his love of music; he collected music from around the world, and would always spark up conversations about current and unknown bands and musicians. Ivonne and him met as flight attendants, and both had a strong love and desire for traveling. They traveled to nearly 30 countries together, and were currently planning a trip to Ireland.

Chacho was always the life of the party, and everyone that met him remembers him for always having a smile on his face and laughing, making people laugh, and just overall, being a happy person who always wanted to enjoy every single day. His daily presence and love is missed tremendously by his wife and daughter.

Honoring and respecting Carlos' wishes, a memorial service will not be held. We will be having a mass in his honor on Thursday, 26 September at 7p, at Our Lady of the Assumption, located at 435 Berkeley Ave. Claremont, California 91711. The burial of his remains will be held on Friday, 27 September at 330p at the Forest Lawn in Covina Hills, California, and is reserved for family and friends who knew Chacho.
