Carl Poirot, born on October 9, 1938, in Dahlhart, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, in Indio, California. He was a dedicated individual whose profound impact on those around him will be fondly remembered.

Carl's academic journey was marked by a commitment to learning and leading. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the Pontifical College Josephinum in Ohio, followed by a Master’s Degree in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento. He pursued further education at McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, where he earned his Juris Doctor. His education laid the groundwork for a career that reflected his passion for social justice and advocacy.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, and son, Joseph Carl Poirot. Additionally, Carl is survived by his siblings, including brothers Jerry Poirot, Henry Poirot, and Joseph Poirot, as well as sisters Mary McWatters and Joan Douthit. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Adelina Mesman, and brother-in-law, Rolf Mesman, along with his nephew Nicholas Mesman and nieces Andrea Shoup and Joyce Hayford; in addition to numerous relatives in Texas, Colorado, Georgia and Washington.

Carl was predeceased by his father, James Joseph Poirot, and mother, Alma Gertrude Poirot, as well as his sister, Kay Weirick. Their memories and influence undoubtedly shaped the man he became, fostering his unwavering principles and values that guided him throughout his life.

Carl’s legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and remembered for his kindness, intellect, and passion for helping others.

A Celebration of Life is planned for May 2026 in Indio, CA.
