PLAISTOW, NH. - Carl David Kirsch, 59, of Plaistow, N.H., formerly of Chesapeake, Va., passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Born in 1953 in Portsmouth, Va. to Mildred and the late Joseph Kirsch, Carl was raised and educated in Chesapeake and graduated from Deep Creek High School in 1973.  He moved to New Hampshire in 1975, and settled in Plaistow in 1983.

Carl was employed by Raytheon in Andover as a Test Equipment Material Handler.

He enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies and interests including fishing, deer hunting, crabbing, four-wheeling, cooking, campfires, and spending valuable time with his family.

Carl was a class act and was loved and respected by all who knew him.

Carl will be sorely missed by his beloved wife, Susan (Reed) Kirsch; a daughter, Christine and her husband Paul Milone of Exeter, N.H.; a son, David; two granddaughters, Mia and Haley; two brothers, Michael Kirsch and his wife Kathleen of Chesapeake and Thomas Kirsch of Norfolk, Va.; mother and father-in-law, Katherine and Robert Reed of Plaistow; a brother-in-law, Kevin Reed and his wife Cynthia of Plaistow; a niece, Claire and her husband Aaron Brainard of Chesapeake; a nephew, Richard Kirsch of Chesapeake; a great-niece, Hannah; and great-nephew, Samuel.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow Village (Rt. 121A). Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at noon. Burial will take place in Plaistow Cemetery.
