Candido Ramirez Cabug

Candido Ramirez Cabug, 84, born on April 16, 1933, in Cavite City, Philippines, passed away June 21, 2017. He resided in Carson, California at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.
Candido (Ding) is survived by his four children, Maria, Romeo, Ferdinand, and Candido Jr. He has eight grand children as well as four great grand children. His wife Evelyn (Eve) had went before to the Lord in 2012.
In 1953 Ding joined the US Navy as a Filipino national working first in the galley and finally becoming an electrician. He serve honorably for 20 years retiring in 1973 as a Chief Petty Officer. After the Navy he worked for Long Beach Naval Shipyard continuing his pension points as a government employee. He retired from the shipyard after 20 years.
Ding was a very social person who loved to go bowling, fishing, dancing, eating, playing mahjong and cards and being part of the First Christian Church of Carson. He had card nights most weekend nights where Eve would make snacks and her special crock pot of chili. In the 84 years of his life I have many memories of him as well of many of you. I'd like to share a time my mother Eve told me during her college years in Manila she heard music playing outside her house. Looking outside she saw Ding accompanied by a guitarist, serenading her. Unfortunately her mom didn't want Ding as her husband, but love is strong and so was Ding's appeal, they decided to elope and move to Cavite. Their love story lasted more than 50 years as you would find them together, an inseparable pair. When Eve passed away in 2012, Ding was not the same as he missed her very much. He tried to stay busy seeing friends and family at church and parties but it wasn't the same. As his body got weaker and his Independence was lost, He went home to the Lord and is now in a better place.
We celebrate Candido (Ding)'s life and we know that Ding is dancing again with Eve and bowling the perfect game. Until we all meet again in heaven we will not forget them.
