Calvina Ruth "Boss" (Kruger) Bickerstaff, age 65 of Newton, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side, following a long battle with cancer on Thursday, February 4, 2016. She was born on July 3, 1950 in Bakersfield, CA the daughter of the late Calvin and Ramona (Payne) Kruger. She was raised and educated in Bakersfield and graduated from West High School.

Calvina had worked at several jobs as a younger woman. After meeting and falling in love with the "love of her life", Calvina married Rick Bickerstaff. Calvina and Rick had lived in Kansas, Guam, England, California and Utah before settling in Newton, NH. Calvina stayed at home to raise her three boys. She was a loving and supportive mother who was active in Cub Scouts, PTA and Little League. She and Rick would enjoy entering dance contests and go bowling together and with friends. She was a talented knitter who loved to knit blankets for all her family and friends over the years. She truly enjoyed spending time with all of her family and friends and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of almost 47 years, Rick Bickerstaff of Newton, NH. Her sons; Darren L. Bickerstaff of Manchester, NH, Ricky D. Bickerstaff of Newton, NH and John D. Bickerstaff of Lowell, MA. Her sisters; Nancy Rupe and husband, Kenneth, Victoria Farrington and husband, Ronald, her twin sister, Cynthia McCaine and husband, Donald and Rebecca Kruger, all of Bakersfield, CA. Her grandchildren; Jack C. Bickerstaff, Lida S. Bickerstaff and Nicholas S. Bickerstaff. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive her. She was predeceased by her sister, Lida Kruger.

There are no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a Pot Luck get together at Calvina and Rick's home on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 3 PM. Donations in Calvina's name may be made to: The American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Dr. #110, Bedford, NH 03110.
