An avid golfer, he scored well below his age up until a month before his passing. Table tennis was also a passion, challenging many of his younger neighbors to a lively match. Mr. Barnes served in the US Navy aboard the USS Ommaney Bay when it was hit and sunk by Kamikazi aircraft on January 4, 1945. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 2 - 4 pm at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach, California.
