In Loving Memory of Bruce Jerry Baum (February 12, 1937 - June 30, 2023)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce Jerry Baum, a beloved husband, father, and friend. Bruce left this world on June 30, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Born on February 12, 1937, Bruce entered the world with a spirit that would touch the lives of many. Throughout his 86 years, he embraced each day with a zest for life. Bruce's radiant smile, dry wit and contagious laughter brought joy to those around him, leaving an indelible mark on their souls.

As a husband, Bruce shared a deep and profound love with his beloved spouse, Marilyn Audrey Baum. United on November24, 1996, Bruce and Marilyn spent 30 years together, enjoying many activities such as square dancing, traveling and good times spent with their friend group, the Great Eight. 

As a father, Bruce had two children with his first wife, Elaine Sandra Jacobson Baum; Lawrence, 59 and Frederic, 56. Through his marriage with Marilyn, Bruce has two stepsons; Joel, 58, and Ron, 56. Bruce has 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Bruce had an entrepreneur spirit! For 20 years Bruce owned and operated Flooky’s. People came from all over to experience some of the best hotdogs, hamburgers, and pastrami sandwiches in all of San Fernando valley. 

Bruce was a wonderful friend to many and he touched the lives of countless individuals. His most cherished days were those spent with his wife and their friend group. Together, they dined, traveled, laughed, and enjoyed each other’s company. His smirky demeanor, sense of humor, and empathy, endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. These friendships were his greatest gift, and he treasured the connections he made throughout his life.

Bruce Baum leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and warmth that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. While we mourn his loss, we find solace in the memories we shared and the lessons he imparted. May his spirit guide us as we move forward, carrying his love and light with us.

A graveside service to celebrate Bruce’s life will be held at Forest Lawn in Cathedral City, CA, on July 6, 2023, at 8:30 am. Following the service, a reception will be held to honor Bruce’s memory, allowing family and friends to come together, share stories, and support one another during this difficult time.

As we say goodbye to Bruce, let us remember the joy and laughter he brought to our lives and honor his memory by embracing all that he shared with the world. Rest in peace, dear Bruce. You will be deeply missed, but forever cherished.
