Haverhill, MA:  Bronislaus P. "Ben" Urbalonis, 85, of Haverhill, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012, at Penacook Place. He was born in Haverhill, the son of John and Agnes (Pirog) Urbalonis.

Ben was raised and educated in Haverhill. He was a World War II army veteran, serving as a Sergeant  during the occupation of Berlin, Germany.  Ben was a proud member of the Amvets. He was a retired Haverhill firefighter, employee of Ornsteen Wood Heel and a skilled finish carpenter.  There wasn't anything he couldn't build or fix! One of Ben's greatest loves was to spend summers with his family at the camp he built on Lake Winnipesaukee. He particularly enjoyed boating and fishing.  But most of all, he loved life - he loved to be with people and have a good time!!  His big smile and laugh will be missed.

Ben's last two years of life were spent at Penacook Place where the staff were not only his caregivers but also became his friends.  A special thank you to all of you who enriched his life with your quality care and kindness.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara (Kancevitch) Urbalonis, and his siblings, Peter Urbalonis and Nellie Dow.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Gorski and her husband, Stephen of Plaistow, NH, his son, John Urbalonis of Alton, NH,  and his grandchildren, Alex and Zachary Gorski, and William, Jonathan and Nicole Urbalonis.   He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Eleanor Hutchinson and many nieces and nephews.  He will be sadly missed.

There will be a private burial at St. Patrick's Cemetery. All are welcome to attend a reception to celebrate Ben's life on Saturday, September 15, 2012, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the home of his daughter on 16 Cifre Lane in Plaistow NH.
