Brigitte Foster

Brigitte Foster, age 79, of Sun Valley, CA died February 10, 2022 after struggling with COPD for several years. She went peacefully, holding hands with her daughters, while listening to Elvis Presley. Brigitte was born on December 9, 1942 in Indjia, Yugoslavia. During WWII, her family was uprooted and lived in various places in Europe until Brigitte was 8 or 9 years old. They were then sponsored by St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Los Angeles, CA and came to the United States. They lived in Los Angeles for several years before settling in Hollywood, CA. Brigitte graduated from Bishop Conaty Memorial High School. She held various clerical jobs throughout her life. She met her husband, Robert Foster while taking her car to be serviced at the gas station where he was working. They were married in 1965 and spent the next 35 years together raising their daughters, and spoiling their grandsons until Robert's death in 2000. Brigitte was a beautiful, intelligent woman who raised her daughters to be strong and confident. She was a loving wife, wonderful daughter, and the most amazing grandma! She loved to do puzzles and Sudoku. She loved to garden and tend to the beautiful flowers and plants around her home. She enjoyed going out to eat with her friends. She will live forever in the hearts of all who knew her.

Brigitte is preceded in death by her parents, Johann and Katherine Gartner and her husband, Robert Foster. She is survived by her two daughters, Denise Curran (Tom Curran) and Michelle Bejarano (Oscar Bejarano), her three grandsons, Jeremy Curran, Tyler Curran, and Mateo Bejarano and her brother Richard Gartner.

Brigitte will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale. Services to be held March 25, 2022 at 1:30 pm at the Little Church of the Flowers, located at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1738 South Glendale Avenue, Glendale, CA.
