Atkinson, NH:  Brian Thomas Abraham passed away on August 2nd at Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill, MA after a long and valiant fight against cancer.  He never gave up the will to live and comforted others during his struggle.

He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline "Jackie"'( DiPasquale) Abraham for 43 years.  He was the devoted Dad and Papa to his son Brian T Jr. and his wife Lisa (Avolizi) and their 3 sons , Conor T, Nicholas J, and Donovan R. ,also his son Steven M, and his wife Heather (Bordick) and their children, Mae Rose and Jameson L.  He was predeceased by an infant daughter who died on his birthday in 1979 and his brother, William R who passed away in 2008.

Brian was born in Worcester, MA on June 1, 1947 to the late Margaret (Dolan) Abraham and Robert L Abraham.

He was educated in Worcester and graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1969.  He received ROTC training at WPI where he was a member of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity.

Brian served as a First Lieutenant in the US Army from 1969-1971 including a tour of duty in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division where he received the Bronze Star Medal among other honors.

He earned a Masters Degree in Engineering Science from Clarkson College, Potsdam, NY in 1977 as well as a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Suffolk University, Boston, MA in 1979.
Brian and his family moved to Plaistow, NH in 1973 (they moved to Atkinson in 1988) and he began his career at the former Western Electric/Bell Labs.  He retired from Lucent Technologies as a Director of Quality in 2001.  He went on to a second career as the Administrative Officer of the New England Field Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration in Boston.  He retired in December 2011.

Brian will always be remembered as a good, gentle, and kind man. He was very active throughout his life and enjoyed several outdoor pursuits especially golfing, playing tennis, skiing, and visiting the beach for a swim. He loved traveling and took his wife and sons on many vacations to ski out west.  He and Jackie made numerous trips to different European countries to sightsee and ski.  They traveled to various islands and to Florida to relax.  They toured the US and frequently visited their favorite destination, Lake Tahoe to ski Heavenly Valley.

His greatest joys were his children and grandchildren.  Spending time with them was always his top priority.  Watching his grandsons - sporting events and cheering them on gave him immense pleasure.  He played with all of his grandchildren tirelessly.  His goal was to be a positive influence in their lives and he certainly achieved that goal.

He also leaves several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews who adored their Uncle "Bri"'.

He will be sadly missed by his golf and tennis buddies and his many friends and relatives.  He loved to socialize and enjoyed dining out and having a glass of fine wine. He was intelligent, energetic, fearless, and loving.  He was an absolutely wonderful person.

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St. (Route121A) Plaistow, NH. His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10a.m. in Holy Angels Church of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish, Plaistow. Burial with military honors will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery, Plaistow. The family requests that memorial donations be made to American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Drive, Suite 110, Bedford, NH or to The Jimmy Fund, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P. O. Box 849168, Boston, MA.
