Bonnie Gean White
March 12, 1932 â January 13, 2016
Bonnie Gean White peacefully passed away on January 13, 2016 at the age of 83. Bonnie was born in Missouri and at the young age of 3 her family moved to Bell Gardens, California. She was the third born of three brothers and two sisters.
During her attendance at Bell Garden's High School, she met the love of her life, Billy Bob White and in 1948 at the age of 16 they began their 48 year marriage. When her two children arrived, she stayed home to raise Bob and Sherry. Devoted to her children she raised them with love and tenderness making them the center of her life, just as she did for her grandchildren and great grandchildren to follow. Bonnie lived for her family.
In the 50's many weekends were spent with Bonnie at Newport Dunes where the family enjoyed camping, waterskiing, and BBQ'ing. For those who were lucky enough to taste her homemade ice cream, they were cursed to never enjoy any other kind. During the 60's she taught Sunday school at Westbrook Baptist and also was their church secretary. The 70's were entrepreneurial years, co-owning Bob White's Pro Shop at Garden Square Bowl in Garden Grove. Bonnie ran the front counter and loved helping customers. The 80's were retirement years in Apple Valley, California where they gardened and enjoyed the love of each other's company until 1994 when Billy Bob passed. The next 21 years Bonnie resided with her daughter Sherry, and son in law Warren, in Sun City, California.
Bonnie loved to dance, paint, write and read. She'd play Skip-Bo and Yahtzee with a cup of coffee in front of her and a smile on her face. She was great at playing poker but would never play family members because she didn't want to take their money. Vegas and casinos were a joy in her life, she'd spend hours and hours in the Keno room - once winning $1300.00.
Bonnie had a selfless soul, her dedication and love for her family showed in everything she did. She was a Beloved Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother. Her legacy will live on through her family. She will be missed.
