Bonnie Mae Henson, 79, born May 21, 1937, in Xenia, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 9, 2017. She resided in Indio, California at the time of her passing.
Bonnie will be forever missed by Husband Robert Henson of Springfield, Ohio, Two daughters Penny Belzman of Indio, California and Terri Baca of Springfield, Ohio. She is Also survived by her sister Lenora Koenig of Fairborn, Ohio, and two sisters in law Linda Smith and Jean Guffey. She had 13 Grandchildren, Angel Anderson, Arleesha Yetzer, Nathaniel Henson, Alexis and Raymond Zimmerman, Daryl, Tammy, and Daniel Belzman, Kristina Bentsen, as well as Michael, Greg, Kaitlyn, and Isaiah Baca. She had 6 great grandchildren Jaxon, Ellie, Athena, Cole, Skyler, and Elias. We cannot forget her beloved Dog Sugar, that she loved almost as much as her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. ;-)
Bonnie was preceded in death by her son William Henson, parents Alvin and Clara Smith, brothers Albert (Butch), Marvin, and Alvin Smith, sisters Alberta Johnson and Alma Smith.
Bonnie moved to Indio, California in 1981 after living in Cleveland, Ohio for many years serving at a mission church.Bonnie loved serving the lord by helping others. When she moved to Indio she found The First Church of the Nazarene which is now Las Palmas Community Church and served there for over 36 years. Bonnie taught Sunday school and enjoyed any and all activities especially with the children. She had a great heart for missions, and was an amazing prayer warrior for anyone and everyone who needed prayer. She was part of the "Just Us Girls" and CBS bible studies.
Her Family misses her greatly and will never forget her contagious laughter, her warm hugs, and her smile that brightened any room, but is happy that she is now free of the chains that bind you to this earth, and she is now rejoicing in Heaven with her Saviour forever more.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday February 17, 2017 @ 11 am at Las Palmas Community Church located @ 47783 Monroe Street Indio, CA 92201
Family suggests In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to Las Palmas Community Church.
Burial will be held privately at a later date in Ohio.
