Bonnie Ilene Caboor

Bonnie Ilene Caboor, 93 of Burbank, CA, passed away Thursday evening, October 31, 2013 at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center near her home in Burbank. Born in Barry, IL in 1920, she was the daughter of David (Rocky) and Irma Forshey. In 1942, she married Robert L. Caboor in Springfield, IL, whom she met while both were working at the State House. Their first son, J.D., was born in Springfield in 1947. In 1950, the family moved to Burbank, CA where their second son, Eric, was born in 1957.

Bonnie was a homemaker who was a wonderful mother to her children. Over the years, their many summer visits to Barry instilled in them a great love of Pike County, and her many stories of her Barry childhood were among the greatest treasures she gave them. Her last visit to Barry was in June of 2007.

Bonnie was a great cook who loved spoiling her grandchildren with their favorite dishes. She was a supportive friend to all who knew her, and always made time for whoever was in need. During her later years, despite multiple physical ailments, she remained bright and cheerful and never complained, maintaining her great sense of humor until the very end. She will be greatly missed by everyone.

Survivors include her son J.D. and wife Suzi of Pine Mountain Club, CA; son Eric and wife Rosemarie of Burbank, CA; grandchildren Trevor Caboor of Richlands, NC, Mandy Caboor of Bakersfield, CA and Shayne Caboor of Burbank, CA; brother and sister-in-law Clarence and Delores Forshey of Barry, IL along with their six children and their families; and three great-grandchildren. Her husband, Robert, passed away in 2002.
