Bobbie C. Cross-Solie was born on February 5, 1947 in Pinola, Mississippi. Bobbie passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016, with her husband, Mel by her side at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California. Bobbie spent the early part of her life in Hammond, Indiana. She moved to Santa Rosa, California in 1981. She was employed by Santa Rosa School District over 23 years. Bobbie enjoyed a successful career as a Secretary and then Director of Internal Personnel Operations until her retirement in April, 2004. She was known for her commitment to excellence and maintained that standard throughout her career. In 2004, Bobbie and her husband, Mel relocated from Santa Rosa to La Quinta, California. For 12 years, they enjoyed retirement living in Trilogy La Quinta that offered a full complement of lifestyle amenities for active seniors. Bobbie and Mel were best friends and soul mates for over 33 years. In Mel's expression of love: "The passing of my wife, my life and soul mate… Let her be remembered as God's gift to us."Bobbie was a woman of many talents and a lover of mankind. She was involved in many endeavors for the betterment of our society. She had a genuine personality and infectious smile that made everyone around her feel blessed. She was a beautiful soul… and had many caring and close friends that loved her. She will be missed! Bobbie was a faithful member and servant of First AME Church in Indio California for 10 years. She was devoted to her entire family and was proud and privileged to be a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed having her grandchildren visit for weeks at a time. Her priority was to expose them to fun and educational life experiences. Bobbie leaves to cherish her loving memories, husband, Mel Solie; son, Raymond Cross (Trena); daughters, Melani Maysenhalder (Bob) and La Tanya Collette (Cliff); brother, Victor Collins; sister, Malenda Allen; grandchildren, Javaughn, Nyla, Samira, Max (deceased) and Benjamin; great grandchild, Zyra and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. There will be two Memorial Services: Saturday, October 22, 2016. First AME Church Indio at 2 PM and Sunday, October 30, 2016 Trilogy La Quinta at 11 AM.
