Billy Gene Owens, 77, born on February 2, 1945, in Redbird, OK, United States, passed away June 4, 2022. He resided in Los Angeles, CA at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, California.

Billy was born to Eugene and Maudie Lee Owens. He was the eldest of seven siblings. Preceding him in death his mother Maudie Owens, his father Eugene Owens, his brother Robert Owens , two sisters Mary Owens and Kym Crisp.

Billy graduated from Central High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He moved to Los Angeles, California and married Joe Ann Thompson on October 24, 1964. Billy worked for Continental Airlines for 50 years before he retired. During his time working at Continental Airlines he joined the International Bowling League where he proudly served as the IBAL President from 2008 - 2014. Billy traveled the world meeting new people and making new friends along the way. He loved to fish, camp, watch sports, and play the Lottery scratchers. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was known for his kindness, sense of humor, and being the perfect gentleman to all who knew him.

Billy is survived by his wife Joe Ann, their two daughters: Sherril Jacquet (Gregory) and Shenitta Brunson (Wendell), honarary daughters Doretha Slone and Kim Taylor; his siblings: Willa Ledford (Keith), Jennifer Marshall (Thomas), and Janet Younger; one surrogate sister Maura Becknell; eleven grandchildren: Marcus Williams, Jelisa Brunson, Randy Slone II, Michael Barras III, Amie Thompson (Derrick) , Anjana Graves (Terrence), Victoria Jacquet, Deja Lathon-Slone, Aaliyah Jordan, Gregory Jacquet Jr., and Miyah Jordan; twelve great grandchildren - Warren Brunson, Linden Brunson, Ezekiel Whitehead, Makaylyn Whitehead, Deyonte Graves, Michelle Barras, Ryder Slone, Lauren Taylor, Rezen Slone, Mykaia Barras, Camrynn Barras, and Nalaiyah Wafer who will be making her debut in August; two aunts Nathalene and Margaret Owens A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
