Billie Lou Brockie

In Loving Memory of Billie Lou Brockie. Billie was born in Texas on January 25, 1929 and passed away in Palm Desert, Calif. on August 10, 2014 at the age of 85. Billie moved to California from Texas at the age of 19. She was a long time resident of Riverside County, having lived in Riverside, Calif. for 40 years and in Palm Desert, Calif. for the last 25 years of her life. In 1948, she married Allen J. Brockie and they had three children, Deborah, Cheryl and John. Billie worked for the Federal Government for 20 years and after retiring she worked for Gottschalk's Department Store in Palm Springs, Calif. for 15 years before re-retiring. She is survived by her spouse, Allen J. Brockie; her brother, Wayman Pannell; her three children and their spouses, Deborah & Hershel Martin of Riverside, Cheryl & Steve Welty of Palm Desert and John Brockie of Riverside; her grandchildren, Lindsey, Wesley Martin, Brooke Welty, Steve Welty, Charlene Haugen, Kevin Brockie, Brittany Brockie and her two great-grandchildren Ashlynn and Emma Haugen. Her legacy is her strength and she will be remembered and missed by all of those who knew and loved her. A memorial service honoring Billie's life will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 11:30 am in the Ramon Chapel at Forest Lawn, 69855 East Ramon Road, Cathedral City, CA 92234. Forest Lawn Cathedral City is in charge of arrangements.
