Beverly G. Dimperio

Beverly Georgiana Brown was born in 1920 in Kaukauna Wisconsin. She was the oldest of 8 children and, as the big sister, she helped her mother take care of the other children. She was very smart, studied hard and excelled in school. She was on the honor roll every year in high school. In addition to helping at home and studying she had many outside interests. She went hunting and fishing, she ice-skated and skied in the winter and swam in the summer and was a good bowler.

After high school she worked in the local paper plant until she met Ernie Dimperio. She married him and became Beverly Dimperio. She and Ernie moved to New York and then other places around the country until they settled in West Covina around 1952 where she lived until her death. She had four children, Diane, Susan, John and Michael.

When her children were in school mom was very active in church and school activities. She was involved in the women's club for many years and served two terms as president. She helped with church fund-raisers including the annual fiestas and the fashion shows. She was a beautiful woman on the outside as well as on the inside. So in addition to helping with planning and organizing, she modeled in the fashion shows.

All her children went to Catholic elementary and high school. She was a regular volunteer at the elementary school for the more than 20 years during which she had children there. She helped in the office and serving lunch on "hot dog days" as well as serving as the school nurse. She and her husband, Ernie, went to all the parent teacher nights when her children were in school.

Beverly loved children and was a wonderful mother. She loved us unconditionally and was patient and kind. She brought forgotten lunches to school, picked up sick children and brought longer skirts when her daughter was caught with ones that were too short. All of us who were lucky enough to call her Mother feel fortunate that we had been born to her.

She doted on her four grandchildren, Branden, Andy, Kristen and Ernesto. She offered them love, support, encouragement and the spoiling that grandmothers are entitled to.

After her children were grown she worked in retail. Because she enjoyed people she excelled at working with the customers. She especially enjoyed working at Baby News, helping pregnant women and new mothers select clothing, toys and other items for newborns and babies.

Mom loved animals. Her baby book says she loved them even at 1 year of age. Dogs always headed right for mom sensing her welcoming hand and a little scratch. She loved cats, squirrels, birds and all of Gods creatures.

Mom was a gracious woman who had a kind and gentle nature. She was reserved but always attentive and smiling. She had a ready laugh and easily engaged in conversation. She had a kind word for everyone and was a gentle soul who was welcomed everywhere she went. She was loved and admired by all who knew her.

Beverly and her husband of more than 50 years were a well balanced couple. The love they shared was strong and created a warm and supportive family life. They had strengths that complimented each other. They respected each other and made decisions together. They were excellent role models for their children and friends as they demonstrated honesty, integrity and hard work. Many years after dad died mom said she knew he was waiting for her in heaven. Now after 18 years she is able to join her beloved Ernie.

Growing up I didn't have a mother of my own and with that my search started when I met Beverly I knew my search was over she not only was the perfect mother but the perfect woman gentle kind thoughtful loving and full of grace. Her beauty was her perfection a lovely lady and perfect mother one for all of us to share. Gracious and giving ...and today we share that blessing and celebrate her as one of God's gifts. Our love goes with her and from the heavens may she watch upon us. I hope to make you proud as I am so proud to be able to call you mom .if there is a lesson to be taught here let her be the example for us all be kind and thoughtful, love one another.
