Betty Jane Strater, 94, formerly of Fullerton, California passed away December 4th, 2019 at 10:13 PM at Sunrise Senior Living in Yorba Linda, CA. She was born January 29th, 1915 in Joplin, Missouri to the late John W. And Mary F. Famuliner. She married Floyd M. Strater on June 1st, 1947 in Joplin. He preceded her in death on November 2nd, 2013. They were happily married for 66 years.

Betty is survived by her son, Ron Strater, his wife Alice, of Cypress, CA, daughter Debbie Sempsrott, her husband Ed, of Imperial, CA and daughter Kim Hamilton, her husband Dave, of Fountain Valley, CA .along with grandchildren Zack and Kelsey Lullo, Chad and Chelsea Semsprott and two great-grandchildren, Josiah and Judah Sempsrott and one sister, Ruth Henson. Betty was also preceded in death by sisters Alice Famuliner, Louise Wilson and one brother, Wes Famuliner.

Betty was a dedicated preacher's wife, secretary and housewife. She was a kind and loving mother to her three children, and all of her grandkids and great grandchildren. At the beginning of her married life she traveled throughout the Midwest with her husband Floyd, holding church revivals and accompanying his trumpet playing by performing on the vibraharp and piano. She later served loyally along Floyd as a preacher's wife at Villa Heights Christian Church, Joplin, MO, Davis Park Christian Church, Enid, OK, West Side Christian Church, Springfield, IL and Knott Avenue Christian Church in Anaheim, CA. Later in life Betty was a secretary and office administrator at the former Pacific Christian College and Knott Avenue Early Childhood Development Center.

Betty's Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday December 21st 2019 at Forest Lawn Cemetery Cypress, CA. Visitation will from Noon to 1:00PM and will be followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00PM at The Church of Our Fathers Chapel with Pastor Ed Sempsrott officiating.
