Betty Minnick

Betty, age 90, passed away suddenly, without pain, after a full life at her home in Montrose, CA surrounded by loved ones. Born September 6th, 1934 in Hickory county, Missouri, Betty was the only child of Bob and Marcella (Sanders) Hickman. She and her husband, John T. Minnick, lived in Glendale / Montrose, CA for over 60 years.

Betty graduated from SMS, Springfield, MO. She taught elementary school for 10 years, enjoying the Mark Keppel 5th grade classes the last four years before retirement. Her love of genealogy was unmatched, she enjoyed spending research time in libraries and on the internet. Years were spent in her search for the ancestral past of hers and her husband's families.

She enjoyed spending time at their home in San Diego, CA but her most cherished time was spent with family which was always the most important aspect of her life. 

Betty is survived by her kind, smart and important husband of 63 years, John T. Minnick; two fabulous sons, Michael John Minnick (Marie) of San Diego, CA and Jay Andrew Minnick (Maureen) of Montrose, CA; and six far above-average grandchildren, Marissa, Addison, Jack, Haley, Elly and Luke Minnick, and one great granddaughter, Marigold Mina Whalen, born 11/24/24. One Hickman cousin, Bill G. Hickman of Tarpon Springs, FL as well as her long time friends Linda Andersen of Burbank, CA and Maral Parseghian of Glendale, CA. She loved her last two dogs, Newby and Smarty very much.
