Betty Jean Kent, 80, of Palm Desert, Calif., passed away March 6, 2014 in Palm Desert. She was born December 6, 1933 in Guthrie Center, Iowa. She married John Kent on July 12, 1952 in Guthrie Center. She is survived by her daughter Deborah Kent of Palm Desert; sons, Doug Kent of Kansas City, Mo., and David and Dan Kent, both of Des Moines, Iowa. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was a loving grandmother and was very proud and cherished her time with all 17 of them. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kent and her daughter, Donna Miller. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 12 noon at Forest Lawn Cathedral City, Calif., in the Ramon Chapel. Interment will be at a later date at Union Cemetery in Guthrie Center.
