Betty Irene Harline

Betty Irene Fawcett Harline 1930 - 2014.
Betty Irene Fawcett was the sixth of nine children born to Charles M. Fawcett and Ina Pearl Fawcett on October 26, 1930 in Cleveland Ohio. While serving in the Women's Army Corp. stationed at SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe) in France she met the love of her life, Leigh Harline who was also serving in the Army. On June 27, 1953 they were married just outside Paris, France. She often joked that she had a higher rank than him, as she was a Sergeant and assigned to be the Secretary to Rear Admiral Capponi from the Italian Navy (Equal to our Major General in the U.S.) and Leigh's rank was Private lst Class. During their married life they lived mostly in Anaheim California where they raised 4 children. Betty was also the bookkeeper many years for her husband's concrete business. For the past 20 years She has resided in Palm Springs. Betty is survived by her husband Leigh, her daughters Debbie (Puppo), Becky (Craig) Christensen, and sons Brad (Cheryl) and Daren. She leaves nine grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Ruth (Ron) Williams. The following services will be held in Betty's honor:
Wednesday, 9/17 there will be a visitation from 7 to 8:30 PM at the Forest Lawn Facility in Cathedral City, CA.
Thursday, 9/18 - Grave Side Ceremony at 12:15 at The Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA. (This is a 30 minute Military Honors Service)
Saturday 9/20 - 10:00 AM There will be a memorial Service to be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - 1800 San Juan St., Tustin, CA

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The American Heart Association or Cambridge Hospice

Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, CA.
