Betty Louise Hansen

Betty Louise Hansen was born September 13, 1926 in Logan, Cache County, Utah. She was the daughter of Leslie Sern Hansen and Edna Lee Fluckiger, and twin brother to Robert Leslie Hansen.

Betty grew up on a farm in Newton, Utah enjoying her pet cats and doing daily farm chores like collecting eggs. She also enjoyed time at her family's ranch in Idaho and has many memories driving and caring for the horses. She also enjoyed times in the canyon with her family.

Betty learned to play the piano and in high school learned shorthand which would come to benefit her for the rest of her life.

When Betty was 18 and graduated from high school, she moved to California. It was in California that her life began to take off. She continued to use her shorthand skills to support herself, and also pursued her great love of dancing. She loved ballroom dancing and continued dancing until she was 85. She also loved knitting and shared that talent with those she loved.

Betty was blessed with many great friends throughout her life and felt connected to those around her through her passions of dancing, piano, organ, and trips to Catalina Island. Later in her life she returned to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and became a stalwart temple attendee and served diligently in her local congregation.

Betty is survived by close friends, her nieces and nephew and their families. Betty will be dearly missed. She will be remembered as a fiercely independent woman who proudly made her own way and spent her many years doing the things she loved.
