Betty M. Foss of Seal Beach, California died at her home in Leisure World on August 12, 2019
at the age of 96.

She was born on July 13, 1923 in Chicago, Ill. to parents Walter and Barbara Lindner. She
grew up in Chicago and Calumet City with her brothers, Walter and Richard, and sisters,
Dorothy (Cookie) and Dolores (Sissy).

Her father passed away in 1932 when she was 9 years old and the family went through hard
times for quite a few years. She graduated from Thornton Fractional Township High School in
Calumet City and later moved to Hollywood, California where she worked for the phone
company and was joined shortly by her sister, Dolores.

She married Edward Foss in September 1948 and moved to Sun Valley, CA. She had three
children, John, Michael and Edward. She became involved with St. Frances Church and
school which their children attended. She later worked for a catering company in Hollywood
which she really enjoyed and later worked part-time for the Screen Actor's Guild.

While in Sun Valley she frequently had get-togethers with family and friends and used her
catering skills to cook for large groups of people. She made everyone feel loved and welcome.
She left Sun Valley and moved to Seal Beach to be closer to her youngest son, Edward and
family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward in 2005, brothers Richard in 1987 and
Walter in 2008 and sisters Dorothy in 2010 and Dolores in 2019.

She is survived by her three sons and their wives, John and Marlene, Michael and Nancy and
Edward and Gina. Also by her grandchildren and spouses, Meredith and Paul, Aaron and
Amanda, Heather and Tom, Gretchen and Zack, Michael and Cait, Rebekah, Robert and
Alyssa, Dallas and Jackson and her great grandchildren, Liam, Desmond, Ella, Natalie, Isabel,
Robert, Mary, Eloise, Madeline, Winifred and Gwenyth.

will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.
