Betty Bilyeu, a devoted mother, grandmother, and compassionate caregiver, passed away peacefully on April 1st, 2025 at the age of 87. Born in Springfield, Missouri, she dedicated her life to serving others, first as a proud Army nurse, and later as a dedicated VA nurse, retiring after 20 years of service.

Betty's unwavering commitment to healthcare and her fellow veterans touched countless lives. Her time in the Army instilled in her a strong sense of duty and compassion, which she carried with her throughout her career at the VA. She was known for her calming presence, quick wit, and her ability to make even the most difficult situations feel a little easier.

Betty is survived by her children, David Rivera and Robert Rivera; and her granddaughter, Alyssa Rivera. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Bilyeu and Gladys Bilyeu, and her son Michael Rivera.

Betty will be remembered for her warm smile, sense of humor, and strong work ethic, and her unwavering commitment to her family and her profession. Her legacy of compassion and care will continue to inspire those who knew her.

She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks & Mortuaries in Long Beach, California on Friday, April 18th, 2025.
