Betty M. Ayres

Betty May Ayres, long-time resident of Upland CA, passed away Saturday morning, January 5th, 2013 at the age of 91.

Betty (Stevens) was born in Pomona, CA. She lived there for over 30 years. After marrying Edwin Ayres they moved to Carmichael CA where they had two daughters. After living there for ten years, they settled in Upland, CA, where they lived for almost 45 years.

While raising her two daughters, Betty enjoyed sewing and made many items of clothing for her family. She also found time to perform volunteer work for both San Antonio Hospital and City of Hope. Betty and Ed attended the First Presbyterian Church of Upland. Over the years they traveled and went on cruises to many foreign countries.

Betty was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Edwin R. Ayres. She is survived by her daughters, Lori and Carol, and their families, including five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and by her sister Dorothy (Stevens) Harris.

Betty will be interred at Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, on Saturday the 12th at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to City of Hope.
