Bettie Jennings

December 11, 1937 — November 30, 2025

Bettie Jennings went to be with the Lord on November 30, 2025. She was born in Colorado City, Texas on December 11, 1937, to Elmer Sterling and Irene Sterling. Bettie was a 1955 graduate of Pomona High School, and 1957 graduate of Mt. SAC in nursing. She continued on working at Pomona Valley Hospital, Casa Colina Hospital and other Senior Care Hospitals as a licensed vocational nurse (LVN).

The most important thing to Bettie, was her relationship with family and staying connected with everyone's well being. She was the mother for the neighborhood offering up hugs, food, snacks (ice cream truck), listening to personal disagreements, fostering reconciliation and good will. She loved to shop for anything, travel and explore. Bettie had much curiosity in science, astronomy, archaeology and history making her definitely a nerd, but left to dreaming of humanity in a better place. Her critical thinking defied all the negative things of the world going on during these civil moments. Bettie enjoyed great fashion and a good party with a little bit of this and that, but always kept husband James at her side.

Bettie was a giver of time, filled our lives with laughter and warmth. Her favorite moments were spent procuring rare collectibles and watching sci-fi movies. She will forever be in our hearts.

Bettie is proceeded in death by her father Elmer Sterling, mother Irene Sterling, She leaves behind to cherish her memories her beloved Son James Jennings Jr., daughter Kathy Jennings, Son Eric Jennings Sr., Daughter-In-Law Tish Jennings, Grand daughter Asia Jennings, Grand Son Eric Jennings Jr., Grand Daughter-In-Law Alayna Jennings, Great Grand Son Jackson Jennings. She is also survived by many extended family members, and friends.
