Mrs. Bette Jean Phillips, 87, of Claremont, Calif. passed away October 3, 2012 in Claremont. She was born November 28, 1924 to Elias and Lily Tayar in Piper Place, Ill. She was a bank officer for Union Bank for 25 years. She is survived by her daughter, Paula Cooper; sons, James E. Phillips, Jr. and Ralph L. Phillips; 11 grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James (Ed) Phillips. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, CA.
