Bette Frishette, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2023, in Valencia, CA. She was born on November 15, 1927, in Muskegon, MI. Bette will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her one-of-a-kind personality.
Bette's career primarily revolved around being a dedicated homemaker. However, during her high school years, she worked as a department store salesgirl, enticed by the clothing discount it offered. She also spent time as a soda fountain jerk where our Dad would visit her before they tied the knot.
One of Bette's notable qualities was her exceptional memory. She had an uncanny ability to recall stories from her past. In recent times, Bette enjoyed sharing memories through the Muskegon Memory Lane Facebook Group. She loved hearing about her childhood haunts and activities and cherishing old photographs from her hometown.
While Bette found joy in many activities throughout her life, shopping held a special place in her heart. It could even be called her favorite hobby. Additionally, she took delight in watching television shows like the news, The Price is Right, and Los Angeles Dodgers' baseball games. Her reading choices often included the LA Times newspaper and People Magazine.
Bette's passing occurred at the home of her granddaughter Jaime Allen, surrounded by loved ones. The day before she left this world; she had the chance to see most of her family members—a cherished moment etched in their hearts forever.
Among Bette's proudest accomplishments was her journey from Chicago to Los Angeles to join our Dad after he had already relocated to Burbank. This courageous feat involved taking a three-day train trip alone with three young children aged 3, 6, and 7. After arriving in Los Angeles, Bette adapted admirably to new friends, surroundings, and a different climate.
Bette was married to the love of her life, John H. Frishette, who sadly preceded her in death in 1991. She is survived by her children: William Frishette, Janet Broneer, Linda Alumbaugh, and Robert Frishette. Bette's legacy also lives on through her grandchildren: Eric Broneer, Jaime Allen, Hollie Yang, Eli Alumbaugh, Nonie Frishette, Corbet Pollack, Juliet Frishette. She was further blessed with fourteen great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service was held to honor Bette's life on July 1st, 2023. The service took place at Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills.
Bette Frishette will always be remembered for her infectious laughter and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, and treasured memories. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that her spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
