Bessie Maxine Davenport

Bessie Maxine Davenport, 93, of Northridge, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 30, 2019. She passed away peacefully at the Somerford Place of Northridge with loving family by her side. Maxine was born June 7, 1925, in Ottawa, Kansas to Henry Franklin Hamerman and Bessie Mae (Gilliland) Hamerman. She had been a Northridge resident for 62 years.
In addition to being a homemaker, Maxine worked alongside her husband at Davenport Jewelers for many years. She also worked in the fields of optometry and bookkeeping. Maxine was a devoted Christian who worked with her husband in an interdenominational multi-state gospel music ministry.
These are a few of her favorite things… cooking, traveling, singing, roses, china, lace, daily tea time, and her family.
Maxine is survived by her husband of 75 years, Mark Davenport; daughter, Carolyn (Chuck) Burgess; sons, Steven (Lisa) and Michael (Karen) Davenport. Maxine and her husband were also blessed with nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
