Bernice Irene Davis

December 30, 1920 — September 19, 2017

On September 19, 2017 our beloved Mother, Nana, and Great Nana went home to her Savior and returned to Papa's side.

Bernice Irene Davis (Lissner) was born on Dec. 30, 1920 in Kansas City, Mo. After graduating from Paseo High School in 1938 she answered her brother's call to come to California and help him at his coffee shop on Terminal Island.

Shortly thereafter as she waited on tables filled with Navy Sailors she met the love of her life Charles Burnett Davis ("CBD"). They were married on September 9, 1943 and except for Chuck's two years of constant sea duty they were inseparable. They did everything together laughing, worshiping, raising children, even working together.

They started their business career by joining friend Bob Foster, at a small plumbing repair shop, Harry L Bailey in L.A. They later acquired HL Moe in Glendale. They raised two children Michael (Lynette) and Jean (Mark Child) who gave them 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. They were successful at everything they did from business success to mentoring many in their walks with the Lord. Bernice was active in her churches including Chevy Chase Baptist and later Glendale Presbyterian becoming a Deacon. She was also active in PEO.

Bernice was able to remain at her home of 50 plus years only with the loving care tenderly provided by Vicky and Sipo. The family will be forever indebted to them.

On September 18, Bernice's greeting from our Savior was " Well done Bernice, You are a Good and Faithful Servant"!

The Family is asking that in Lieu of Flowers donations can be made to the Salvation Army Glendale (www.glendale-ca.salvationarmy.org) or Samaritans Purse (www.samaritanpurse.org)
