Plaistow, NH:  Benjamin J. Sadewicz, 92, died February 14, 2012 at Exeter Hospital with his family by his side.

Born and raised in Lawrence, MA, son of the late Stanley and Sophie (Gesnakowska) Sadewicz, he attended local schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School's Class of 1937.  He served as a Seaman Second Class; Motor Machinist's Mate in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and was later employed as a Mechanical Engineer at Western Electric Co. and AT&T Technologies for thirty-three years before retiring in 1983.

A former resident of Haverhill for forty years before moving to Plaistow in 1994, he attended the First Baptist Church in Plaistow and was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Telephone Pioneers of America.

A lifelong sailing enthusiast and member of the American Yacht Club in Newburyport, MA.  Mr. Sadewicz built two sailboats during his lifetime and is still the owner of his thirty'six foot sailboat.

He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn (Kellett) Sadewicz in 1999.  Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law Benjamin F. and Lorice Sadewicz of Plaistow with whom he made his home; two daughters and one son-in-law Joyce Sadewicz of Haverhill and June and Colin MacLean of London, England; one sister Laura Tombarello of Pepperell, MA; six grandchildren Matthew, Phillip and Kelsey Sadewicz, James MacLean, Emily Cross, Jessica Hoggard,  and five great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 122 Main Street, Plaistow, NH.  A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with burial in Plaistow Cemetery.  Memorial donations can be made in his name to: First Baptist Church Deacon's Fund, 126 Main Street, Plaistow, NH  03865.  Arrangements are under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH.
